The Walking Code: Video Coaching

Online video coaching to help you improve your body mechanics by improving your understanding of how to move your core

Premium Video Coaching

This package offers the best opportunity to have your walking assessed and have personal guidance to improve your technique. The training I offer will focus on understanding what problems you may have in your walking technique, and how to best correct those problems. The benefits can be improved technique, fluidity, alignment of the spine, and confidence. Decreasing impact on the joints is also a desired benefit. Consider that improving your walking technique is like learning a dance. It will take personal time and practice. The more you commit, the better the results you will have.

Customer Review:

"Dr. Todd Martin is a remarkable person and a wonderful teacher.  He has put me on the road to walking again, after 5 years of disability following an accident and four surgeries.  His instruction is nothing short of transformative. A million "thank yous" wouldn't be enough for how much you have helped me."

With Deepest Gratitude,
Lee

Disclaimer:

While there may be health benefits, I am not offering medical advice. If you have preexisting physical issues, such as significant arthritis or neurologic issues, they may affect your capacity for regaining completely normal walking technique. However, I believe anyone can benefit from this training.

Premium Coaching Checklist:

  • E-mail sign up: Request video coaching session through email, [email protected]
  • You will receive a waiver to sign
  • Submit your video coaching fee
  • Once waiver and fee have been received, you will receive a form to fill out, asking about your specific walking concerns and any pre-existing medical issues that may be interfering with your gait.
  • Send 3 short video clips, showing you walking from the front view, side view and back view. Each video should include you beginning to walk, starting from a standing position, and taking at least 10 steps. A tracking shot is optimal, having someone follow you as you walk. This is best sent as three separate e-mails.
  • The first part of your coaching session will be an analysis of your video, addressing any problem areas that are noticed on the video. You will be referred to relevant Walking Code videos that focus on the issues noted in your video. This will allow you to have a more conscious knowledge of your issues prior to your personal coaching session.
  • A one-hour video coaching session will be set up, preferably at least a week after your initial analysis is received. This will allow for some contemplation and practice. During the session, it is best that you shoot in an area that will allow you to walk towards and away from the camera, with your whole body and feet visualized. This can be done in a hallway. During the session I will provide direct feedback and advice. I may refer you back to specific videos for more practice. If there is an issue that has not been addressed in a prior video, and if it is an issue that other people may also have, I may choose to shoot a specific YouTube video to address your issue further. You will also be provided a written assessment.
