Argentine Tango

Belle and Todd have been performing Argentine Tango together since 1999. Watch a selection of videos by clicking on the images below.

Milonga Sin Palabras

Milonga Sin Palabras is one of my favorite choreographies. A milonga is a type of music in the family of Argentine tango. Milonga Sin Palabras means Milonga without words. The music by Astor Piazolla has a dirge-like quality, so the choreography tells the story of a woman returning from the funeral of her beloved. Overwhelmed with grief, she feels his presence like a spirit and dances with him until finally collapsing it his arms.

Concierto by Astor Piazolla

This piece features Todd and Belle along with their students Fabio and Valerie performing at the Mingei Museum in Balboa Park. The music is performed by the outstanding Camarada Chamber Orchestra.

Tanti Anni

Tanti Ani is one of my favorite Astor Piazolla songs. Dancing it with the Camarada Chamber orchestra is always a great joy. The music is beautiful yet simple. Camarada usually performs it with either guitar and violin or piano and violin.

Fracanapa

Fracanapa is an amazing piece of music with a driving rhythm that is so exciting to perform. This performance was at San Diego's Nations of Dance Festival, one of the  biggest cultural dance festivals in the country.
